Paula Webster
Paula Webster is a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist. She graduated from the Craniosacral Therapy Education Trust (CTET) in London, a school registered with the International Association of Biodynamic Therapy (IABT).
Paula’s career started in the Allied-Health field where she completed a Bachelor of Science degree, B.Sc. Physiotherapy at the University of Cape Town in 2004. She worked as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist for 15 years at various hospitals and outpatient clinics. These years provided a wonderful framework and appreciation of the intricacies of human anatomy and physiology as well as developing clinical diagnostic skills. Throughout her physiotherapy career she had a deep sense and knowing that there was more to healing and health than just treating the physical symptoms. Dr Still, the founder of osteopathy is quoted saying, ‘Know your anatomy and your physiology, but when you get your hands on a patient’s body, never forget that a living soul dwells therein.’ This resonated deeply with Paula and after having her 2 boys and struggling with post-natal depression, she felt passionate to pursue a healing- art that incorporated a more holistic framework to well-being. Fascinated with yogic philosophy she pursued a Year’s Yoga Teacher Training with the Avani Yoga Academy in 2018, followed by Youth Mindfulness Training in 2020. She worked as a yoga and mindfulness teacher for a few years before exploring the realms of biodynamic craniosacral therapy.
The decision to pursue training in craniosacral therapy, was ignited in 2021 when she took her sons to see a craniosacral therapist to help them recover from some post- traumatic stress following a car accident. She describes that in the healing space created by the craniosacral practitioner she felt a stillness and peace transcend that made her feel more centred, strong and well. Realizing that this ‘dynamic stillness’ as well as the wisdom of the body to constantly move towards health was at the heart of the work she vowed to train as a craniosacral therapist herself.
‘If we pay attention to those natural moments when everything goes quiet, a natural stillpoint occurs. It is as if the world is remade in that moment.’
Ian Wright- Osteopath
Her training at the Craniosacral Therapy Education al Trust involved an intense 2 years of training. This included skilful touch and reading of subtle rhythms in the body as well as verbal skills to support somatic trauma resolution. With biodynamic work, one always keeps one foot in relationship to health and wholeness which allows the sessions to be extremely cathartic. The coursework also included in-depth anatomical learning as well as exploring physiology and embryology.
‘My main goal as a therapist is to support my clients in allowing the healing forces of their bodies to express themselves and to help resolve any accumulated life-stresses and unresolved forces that may underlie patterns of disease and suffering in their minds and bodies.’
I am fully registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). This register ensures UK standards for service quality as well as patient safety as the CNHC's register is accountable to Parliament.
I am also registered with the International Cranial Association (ICrA)
‘The body has been designed to renew itself through continuous self-correction,
These same principles also apply to the healing of psyche, spirit and soul.’
